Independence from bad habits!
Hi y’all, Jen here!
Wow, can you believe the year is half over already? How are we doing on changing our habits into healthy ones? Okay, so we still have some room to grow, right? That’s all right, we’re going from frustrated to fabulous! When we hit those little snags in the plan, let’s examine the problem, create a solution and get right back up on that horse.
So, what are some of your bad habits? Not planning ahead? Problems with portion size? Maybe you’re too busy to eat healthy food? Or the most difficult one: everything I do doesn’t seem to move me off the starting line!
So, do I have your attention?
We are humans! We make mistakes! We learn from our mistakes! That makes us AWESOME! When we stop making mistakes, we are AWESOME-er!
So, it boils down to one thing, if you want it bad enough, find a way! If you have motivational issues, get a buddy! Call me if you have to!
Don’t plan ahead? Time management is one the most common problems in all areas of our lives. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail! Set out some time on the weekend and plan the whole week. Studies show that if you have a plan you’ll stick with it because everything that jumps in in your way, you already know how to deal with it. A half hour on the weekend will make your whole week run smoother!
Can’t get portion sizes right? Grab a food scale and use recipes until you start to get it perfect. If you can break loose some time you can cook for several days and portion them into plastic containers so when the time comes, you just heat and eat. Fresh food will last several days and can be warmed on the stove or in the oven depending on the meal.
Too busy to eat healthy? Once again, it’s all in the planning. When we don’t have a plan, we veer off from our goals without realizing it! Make a plan and stick to it. If you fail, do better next week!
And: I can’t get my weight to cooperate! We’ve all been there. Try changing up your diet a bit. Are you exercising? If not, try a little. If you are Wonder Woman in the gym, try taking a day off. Make sure you’re getting your water! And if it still doesn’t seem to move that scale, check your inches! Often we lose inches without realizing it, because we focus hard on the scale!
It’s really important to reach out to others who are working toward the same goals as you are. You can lift each other up and you can celebrate victories together!
All right y’all, let’s declare our independence from stuggle and make this a FABULOUS July!
